Program

Prohibited Activities

Effective date: July 14, 2026  ·  Last updated: September 30, 2026

This policy sets out what is not permitted in Talon programs. It applies to every account, in both the T-Flight evaluation phase and the Crest simulated-funded phase, and forms part of our Terms of Use.

Talon programs are designed to identify traders whose own skill and discipline produce consistent results. Every rule below exists to protect the integrity of that assessment. Read this policy before you trade — not knowing a rule is not a defence.

Consequences — read this first

Engaging in any activity prohibited by this policy may result, at Talon's determination, in all of the following:

These consequences apply across every account and profile associated with you. Fees already paid are not refunded.

How we decide

Automated systems may flag activity for review. They do not make final determinations. Any decision to fail an account, forfeit gains, or cancel a reward is made by Talon personnel after a documented review of the account record. Where we determine a breach has occurred, our determination is final.

1. Automated, algorithmic, and high-frequency trading

All orders must be the result of your own discretionary decisions, entered manually by you. The following are prohibited:

2. Outsourced trading and third-party decision-making

You must trade your own accounts. You may not delegate, outsource, or surrender your trading decisions or order placement to anyone else. The following are prohibited:

Permitted: mirroring your own orders

Replicating your own orders across your own Talon accounts is expressly permitted and is not "outsourcing". The decision must originate with you, and the accounts must all be yours. Copying orders between different traders, or coordinating entries and exits with other traders, is prohibited under Section 3.

3. Group, coordinated, and multi-identity activity

4. Concealing your location or identity

5. Disproportionate risk

Using your full contract allowance is not a breach

Your contract limits are yours to use. Trading at or near them is not, by itself, a violation of this policy, and we will not fail an account for it. This section is aimed at a narrower thing: sizing designed to substitute a gamble for a trading record.

The following are prohibited:

Separately from this policy, how you manage size and risk is something we look at when deciding whether to offer a live-funded arrangement. That is a decision about extending an opportunity, not a penalty — see Section 9 of the Payouts (Rewards) Policy.

Permitted: scaling in and averaging down (DCA)

Adding to an existing position, scaling in, and averaging down — dollar-cost averaging — are permitted in Talon programs. We do not treat them as a rule breach, and you will not fail an account for using them.

What this permits is the technique, not an exemption from the rules around it. Your total position must stay within your contract limits at every point, and scaling in does not license the sizing described above. Opening at one or two contracts and adding as the trade develops is exactly what this allows. Opening at your full allowance and calling it an average-down is not scaling in — it is the position you started with.

Whether DCA is a good idea is your decision, not our rule. It carries real risk: adding to a losing position increases exposure at the moment your original read is being contradicted. We permit it. We do not recommend it.

6. Using the drawdown threshold as a stop-loss

The trailing drawdown threshold and the daily loss limit are risk boundaries that end or halt an account. They are not a trading tool. Deliberately allowing a position to run into the trailing threshold, or relying on the threshold or daily loss limit to close positions in place of managing your own risk, is prohibited.

7. Overnight and weekend positions

Talon accounts are evaluated on an intraday basis only. All positions must be closed before the daily session close. Any position still open at 17:00:01 US Eastern fails the account.

Where a position is open at that time we may close it, or allow the platform to close it, without notice. Flattening the position does not undo the breach: the account is failed either way.

This applies to every session, including Friday. Positions must be flat before 17:00:01 Eastern on Friday and may not be carried into the Sunday 18:00 Eastern open.

8. Exploiting errors, outages, and platform behaviour

If you become aware of an error that operates in your favour, you must report it promptly to support@talontraderfunding.com and must not trade on it.

9. Market conduct

Any conduct that would constitute market abuse, manipulation, or a prohibited practice if carried out in a live market is prohibited in our simulated environment, whether or not it is capable of affecting a real market.

10. Qualifying days and flipping

A trading day counts as a qualifying day only if the net result for that day moves by at least the threshold for your program. A gain or a loss both count — a genuine losing day is still a real trading day.

Minimum daily movement for a qualifying day
Program25K50K100K150K250K300K
T-Flight±$150±$200±$250±$300n/an/a
Crest±$100±$200±$300±$300±$300±$300

Placing token, negligible, or self-cancelling trades to manufacture qualifying days is prohibited. So is opening and closing positions without genuine market exposure — "flipping" — in order to satisfy a day count.

11. Payment conduct

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting us is a breach of this policy and of our Refund & Billing Policy. If you have a billing concern, email support@talontraderfunding.com and we will address it.

12. Abuse of staff

Threatening, harassing, or abusive conduct towards Talon personnel is prohibited and may result in closure of your profile.

13. Reporting

If you become aware of conduct that breaches this policy, tell us at support@talontraderfunding.com. Reports are treated confidentially.

Appendix — Asset classes

This appendix defines the asset classes referred to in Section 3. Two positions are in the same asset class if both instruments appear in the same group below. A full-size contract and its micro or mini are always in the same group.

Asset classInstruments
Equity indexES, MES, NQ, MNQ, YM, MYM, RTY, M2K, NKD
Crude & refinedCL, QM, MCL, HO, RB
Natural gasNG, QG
Precious metalsGC, MGC, PL, PA
Industrial metalsHG
Euro currency6E, M6E
Australian dollar6A, M6A
Grains & oilseedsZC, ZW, ZS, ZM, ZL
LivestockHE, LE, GF

A currency contract and its micro are one asset class. Different currencies are not. 6B, 6C, 6J, 6S and 6N are each treated as their own asset class, and the Euro and Australian dollar groups do not combine with one another. Every currency contract is priced against the US dollar, so a position in one currency against a different currency is an ordinary cross-currency trade rather than a hedge.

Any permitted instrument not listed above is treated as its own asset class. This appendix may be extended as instruments are added to the programme; the version in effect when your account was purchased is the version that applies to that account.
